Jaigarh Fort Jaipur became one of the main Canon foundries due to the abundance of arms and ammunition, It was looked after by Dara Shikoh, but when he was defeated by Aurangzeb, the fort under the rule of Jai Singh, who renovated and refurbished it. there is a separate section in the fort, devoted to displaying the armories of the fort, it features swords, shields, guns, muskets, and cannonballs up-to 50 kilograms, and the museum within the campus display photographs, stamps etc. from the ancient times, and a assembly hall of the warriors called 'Shubhat Niwas'.

The history of the fort

One interesting story goes with the history of the fort, According to folklore, the rulers buried a huge treasure in the soil of the fort. It is also believed that a huge treasury was discovered here and captured by the Government of Rajasthan when the renovation works were carried out at Fort in 1970. but other said the treasure was never recovered.

The Former Emperors of the Fort namely, Sawai Bhawani Singh and Major General Man Singh II also served as the top Officials in the Indian Army, after the country became Republic.
